Josiah Montessori at Aperia represents Singapore's premier early childhood education destination, drawing from 25 years of excellence in Montessori-based teaching and holistic child development. Located within the modern Aperia complex in Kallang, this esteemed preschool serves families throughout central Singapore seeking high-quality infant care and childcare services that emphasize independence, freedom within limits, and respect for children's natural developmental needs. Founded by three engineers in 1997 who faced challenges finding suitable early childhood education for their own children, Josiah Montessori has evolved from its humble beginnings into one of Singapore's most respected educational institutions, combining traditional Montessori principles with contemporary understanding of child development to create what they call "the Josiah Way."
The school offers comprehensive programs including infant care for children aged 2-18 months and childcare services for children from 18 months to 6 years old, utilizing a carefully designed Montessori curriculum that provides a holistic learning environment for self-directed exploration and motor skill development. Josiah Aperia features their signature Musical Arts Program consisting of five elements - vocal training, dance, art, music appreciation, and Chinese speech and drama - integrated at no additional cost to develop 21st century skills including self-management and social awareness. All main teachers hold certifications in the Diploma of Early Childhood Curriculum and Education or equivalent qualifications, and complete 100 hours of specialized Josiah Way training before working with children, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to the school's educational philosophy across all programs and interactions.
Strategically located at Aperia, 12 Kallang Avenue #03-37, Josiah Montessori benefits from excellent accessibility via Lavender MRT station and comprehensive public transport networks serving Singapore's central districts. Parents consistently praise the Aperia location for its warm, welcoming environment where "teachers never fail to greet us with a smile every day," demonstrating the school's commitment to creating positive experiences for both children and families. The school also provides specialized Josiah Care services that facilitate early intervention for children with learning or developmental disabilities, ensuring inclusive support within their centers. The Aperia location's modern facilities and central positioning make it convenient for working parents throughout Singapore while providing children with a nurturing environment that celebrates individual uniqueness and supports comprehensive development during these crucial early years.
The administrators were very prompt in responding to our request for a school visit. It's a bright and spacious setup. When we visited, a couple of teachers were doing storytime with a few older infants, and they looked super happy and engaged. The teachers were approachable and patiently answered all our questions.

Love the setup; it is so bright and has a positive feel. The teachers are very professional, and the principal is very approachable. She addressed all my concerns and even provided tips to transition my baby from home care to infant care. She was also able to accommodate my baby's needs.

Here's the lightly edited review:
"We were looking for infant care for our newborn, and Josiah Montessori was one of the options near our home. We emailed to inquire about a site visit. Josiah Babies responded the next working day, and we visited the following day. The environment felt calming and full of natural light from the full-length window. We also liked how the teacher was interacting and engaging with the children, something you would expect from a Montessori school. Furthermore, with recommendations from parents in the SG Montessori FB group, we finally decided to sign up with them."

Our son has been attending Josiah for eight and a half months now, and we only have positive things to say about Josiah at Aperia. The teachers, led by Ms. Zaidah, clearly have a way with kids, and knowing that they are also sincere in the love they shower our boy with provides us with immeasurable relief, allowing us to focus on our work during the day.
Apart from their soft skills with the kids and consistent communication with us, the pedagogy is also sound. The thoughtful exercises the teachers have conducted over the past months have helped our little one experience many different things that we ourselves would not have thought of or had the time to expose him to.
Finally, Aperia Mall has a lot to offer. It's a lot of small things that add up:
- Traffic in and out of the mall is never too congested.
- There's a grace period for parking that gives us enough time to pick him up and drop him off.
- We've never had to spend more than 3 minutes looking for a parking space.
- The centre is never more than a 3-minute walk from anywhere in the car park, and it's sheltered all the way.
- There's a Cold Storage very close to the centre, so it's a convenient location for a quick grocery run.
- The mall, though simpler than most, also has food options like Ya Kun, McDonald's, Starbucks, and a food court.
When we were thinking about enrolling our son into Josiah and touring the school, we were lucky enough to meet some parents who already had infants enrolled in the school, and they, too, had rave reviews. Glad to say we've joined the pack!

Our son recently graduated from Josiah Infant Care at Aperia, and we had a wonderful experience with the teachers. The teachers put in loads of effort to curate the activities each semester, as well as to decorate the school for various celebrations. Our son also picked up baby signs, like ‘please,’ and many independence skills, like keeping his books. As he transitions to a new school, he still frequently pulls out the scrapbook of photos of his time at Josiah (a farewell gift from the teachers), which we take to be him missing his friends and teachers. Thank you, teachers! We are so glad to have enrolled Eden with your team.

Wonderful childcare teachers who are dedicated and patient. Small classes in a safe environment where kids can learn and enjoy their childhood. The Principal and teachers went above and beyond to organise and coordinate the K2 graduation ceremony. Very grateful that my child spent 5 years in a nurturing environment and made great friends.

My baby enjoyed school and cannot wait to go to school. Thanks to the teachers at Josiah. They created many good memories for my baby. If I have a second one, I will definitely send him/her to this school. Teachers are very friendly, and my baby really loves the teachers.

My son attended the infant care from 6 to 18 months old, and it was simply one of the best decisions my wife and I had ever made in our parenting journey. The principal (Ms. Zaidah) and teachers loved and cared deeply for my child, and I had absolutely no worries entrusting him to them. The environment is very open and bright, with plenty of activities and facilities for play. My son always brightened up during drop-off and couldn't wait to see his teachers. Overall, I cannot recommend Josiah enough, and our family will definitely miss partnering with the teachers.

I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding care the team at Josiah Babies has provided to my child. Your commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment has had a significant impact on my son’s growth and development, and it also brings me immense peace of mind knowing that he is in such capable hands.
To all the teachers: Your professionalism, care, and genuine love for what you do make a world of difference in my son’s daily experiences. He looks forward to going to school and often can’t wait to rush in. He also comes home happy. This is truly the biggest testament to your work.
Thank you all for your tireless efforts, unwavering support, and genuine care, rain or shine. I am forever grateful to have such an amazing team caring for him.

I have 3 girls at this Montessori. I would like to commend the principals' and all the teachers' work ethics and love for the children. They are truly caring for every child, which gives us parents peace of mind knowing that they are safe, well-taught, and well-cared for.
Upon graduating from kindergarten, we can see how well our children are prepared by the school (academics, confidence levels, social and emotional interactions) to face their next phase of life in primary school. Well done!

My wife and I could not have been happier with the teachers at Josiah (Aperia). Especially Ms. Sandra and Ms. Angie have made it very easy for us to feel assured that our baby is taken care of in the best possible way. Now that we have moved back to our home country, we once more realize how great the facility and its teachers are, and we will definitely miss you!

Our child had a great time in Josiah's infant care programme, and you'd be hard-pressed to find another centre with the same teacher-child ratio, or a conducive, light-filled environment. The teachers were caring and communicative, and the centre has a strict policy against admitting kids with slight medical symptoms – we see it as a good thing to prevent infections from being passed around, although admittedly it could be frustrating if you're on the receiving end, requiring you or your spouse to take unexpected leave.
Unfortunately, for unknown reasons, the centre has been holding onto our deposit for three months and counting after our child's graduation, and despite multiple chasers and unfulfilled promises, the deposit has yet to be refunded. Do be aware that the refund may take a long time or may never come.

Update:
The teachers compiled the most meaningful scrapbook to celebrate my son’s graduation from Infant Care, which is something not typically done at other infant care centers. This really shows how this school goes the extra mile!
Thank you Josiah!
When my maternity leave was over, I placed my only child in Josiah Babies when he was only four months old, and Josiah Babies made my transition back to work so much smoother than I could ever have hoped for.
They took such great care of my son, and he only fell sick twice during his 14 months there (even though everyone told me to be prepared for him to fall sick once a month).
This is because they were always quick to nip bugs in the bud before they spread. The environment is also really clean, spaced out, and well-organized, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in a lot of light.
You can tell the teachers have an amazing passion for nurturing kids, and always greeted us with the biggest smiles at the beginning and end of the day (and we all know how tiring looking after babies can be).
What I also realized, after touring multiple preschools, is that Josiah Babies is truly one-of-a-kind. Most of the time, infant care centers are just part of a larger preschool, so they don’t do much educating (but you’d be surprised at how much infants can pick up, especially after 1 year old).
However, with Josiah Babies, it’s separate from the preschool and clearly has a much richer curriculum than other infant care centers that are also preschool hybrids.
By interacting with caring and qualified teachers who are trained in the Montessori method (sensorial learning, sign language, etc.), my son met milestones earlier than I expected.
If I have a second child, Josiah Babies will be my first infant care center of choice! Can’t recommend it enough!

We fell in love with Josiah Babies the very first time we stepped in. The space is bright, clean, has full-length windows, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. It wasn’t the most convenient infant care option for us, but we knew right away it was the right one.
I’m grateful to all the teachers who have supported us on our parenting journey and showered our child with so much love and patience —especially Teacher Sandra, Teacher Angie, Teacher Ing, and Teacher Dandan, who have been with our child from the very beginning. They are warm, attentive, and truly care for our child.
Thanks to them, I’ve been able to enjoy motherhood so much more. It really feels like we’ve found a village of support here.
If you’re looking for a safe, nurturing, and trustworthy place for your little one, look no further.

My baby girl started her journey at JOSIAH Aperia at 4 months old, and I am really satisfied with everything. The ongoing communication keeps me well-informed and gives me a sense of relief while my girl is in the hands of the caring teachers. Special mention goes to Ms. Angie (Aperia branch), who is always there to assist and accommodate. She goes above and beyond my expectations, ensuring the health and safety of my kid with utmost care and dedication. I really appreciate the work she does and the care she has shown to my baby girl.
