Teachers at Firstpointe are kind and skilled. My daughter loves her ballet classes there.

This place is honestly so good, and the teachers are so fun but strict, and they teach us a lot.

Very professional and attentive instructors who are detail-oriented and committed to providing tailored advice to their students, regardless of skill level. I have been attending Firstpointe since they first opened, and now both my nieces are also starting their ballet journey here. ❤️

I joined the Adult Ballet RAD Grade 2 for a trial last year. It's a very good class, but you must have some basic ballet background to understand what the teacher is talking about. However, I didn't continue because I couldn't make the time and day work; I was working and still am, making it very difficult to join. However, there's now a Tuesday RAD Grade 2 class, so I will join soon. They even have a Sunday 4:45 PM beginner ballet class, but it's only a trial class at the moment. Unless three or more students register and pay in full, the Sunday class will be confirmed to start after the trial class on March 17, 2024. I love to learn ballet and love ballet performances, especially those related to ballet. So, you can try it if you have a passion for ballet dance. There's no harm in trying, in fact.

Learning contemporary dance as an adult beginner has been an absolutely wonderful experience for me at Firstpointe. Under Miss Eva's guidance, her patience with each and every student wowed me on the first day of class. I was hooked from my first trial class. Her ability to pay close attention to everyone, and to correct in a very kind, gentle, and encouraging manner, has made learning a very positive journey for me. Beyond the lessons, I appreciate that every contact point with Firstpointe, from the receptionist to the customer service via WhatsApp, is consistently friendly, enthusiastic, and above all, very responsive and accommodating to various requests and queries. Finally, given the high quality of teaching, I would say that the prices charged by Firstpointe are definitely very reasonable and well worth it. I would gladly recommend Firstpointe to anyone who is interested in learning dance.

Here's the lightly edited review: I really enjoyed learning ballet and contemporary at this school. The teachers are dedicated to helping the students excel and do not show favouritism or discriminate. The staff are reasonable, helpful, and prompt with their replies. Dance studios are clean and spacious, and there is equipment such as foam rollers for students to use. Fellow students are generally friendly and nice to hang out with. The studio offers a variety of dance classes (with a focus on ballet) for children and adults, ranging from ballet graded exams (RAD) to ballet and contemporary open classes, and private lessons. The level of difficulty ranges from beginner to advanced, though the standard and requirements for students taking RAD are a little higher, so it might be intimidating for newcomers. They have recently added other genres to their repertoire as well (e.g., K-Pop and CSTD Jazz), which is a good alternative for those who are interested in other types of dance. Over the years, I have improved in my dancing and have been given opportunities that might not be offered in other studios. I am pleased to see the level of commitment from the teachers and staff, and I am satisfied with my experience with Firstpointe. Thus, I will continue to be a student of Firstpointe.

My daughter has been learning ballet, taking exams, and even participating in competitions with Firstpointe since it was established. The teachers are passionate and serious about dance. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to learn to dance to give it a try there.

I have been with this school for more than 2 years, taking their Adult RAD classes. Their teachers are professional, and their staff are friendly. I have made a lot of new friends here. Highly recommend!

My daughter has been learning under the tutelage of Ms Tan Meng Hooi and has improved steadily over the years. We are grateful for her guidance and support for my daughter, assisting her to be more disciplined and helping her to improve not just as a dancer but as a person.

From the moment we joined, the school has been nothing short of amazing. The instructors are not only highly skilled and passionate but also genuinely care about each student’s growth and well-being. The classes are well-structured, challenging, and inspiring—striking a perfect balance between discipline and creativity. Our journey started with my daughter, and my wife later joined. My daughter recently completed her RAD Grade 8 exam, so she is more or less finished. My wife recently completed her RAD Grade 6 exam. On top of that, thanks to Firstpointe's great help, my daughter was able to gain admission into SOTA and is now in Year 5 CP. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a dance school that truly makes a difference.

I started training under Ms Tan Meng Hooi when I was 12 years old, and her dedication to make every dancer the best they can be is something I’ve always admired about her. Beyond just dance, she’s instilled a lot of values in me such as self-discipline and how to endure through tough times, which actually made me a better student in school back then and my grades drastically improved too. I am truly thankful that Firstpointe was a huge part of my formative years, and my time at the studio has definitely nurtured me into the person I am today!

My eldest girl has been taking ballet and contemporary classes with Firstpointe for 9 years, and my younger girl for 8 years. We are so lucky to have known Ms. Tan, the artistic director, who is so passionate about teaching my eldest girl, regardless of her poor techniques. Most importantly, my girl likes her too. 🥰 My girl is now 18 years old, and she has been mentored by Ms. Tan to become a better dancer and a better person. Dancing is more than just movement — it's an expression of joy, discipline, and artistry. Behind every great dancer stands a dedicated dance teacher who shapes not just steps, but confidence, perseverance, and passion. Her patient guidance has transformed my girl into a great dancer. While the younger sister followed in her big sister's footsteps, she joined ballet classes at age 4 and is now 12. She is inspired by all the ballerinas and big sisters, especially her own sister. She has even explored contemporary dance, in addition to ballet. Ms. Eva, another very passionate teacher, has guided her and taught her to feel the music and express it through dance movement, which she enjoys very much. Countless rehearsals leading up to competitions make them better people, teaching them that winning is not about trophies but more about personal growth! Overall, the school has amazing dance teachers!
