This role sits within the Group Information Security – Security Engineering division, focusing on Splunk platform deployment, integration, and optimization to support enterprise security monitoring and compliance.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Splunk Engineer / Officer with strong skills in SPL (Search Processing Language), Linux, and Python scripting. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Splunk in a distributed/clustered environment, integrating it with infrastructure and security tools, and delivering optimized dashboards, alerts, and reports for operational and security teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, install, configure, and maintain Splunk distributed/cluster deployments.
• Integrate Splunk with infrastructure tools, security devices, and application software.
• Manage all Splunk components – search heads, indexers, forwarders – and data ingestion from multiple sources.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and alerts for new and existing use cases.
• Manage Splunk access control (users, roles, authentication).
• Fine-tune searches and optimize performance.
• Install and upgrade custom and Splunk-base applications.
• Troubleshoot issues using Splunk logs, Linux commands, and Python scripting.
• Perform root cause analysis, escalate to vendors, and document solutions.
• Support system integration/interfacing and new system build activities.
• Work closely with senior developers and architects to deliver secure, compliant solutions.
• Ensure all work is documented and transitioned to production teams post-cutover.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Splunk platform administration.
• Proficiency in SPL, Linux command-line, and Python scripting.
• Experience in integrating Splunk with security devices and infrastructure tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with application installation/upgrades, user access control, and data ingestion.
• Familiarity with security, regulatory, and architectural standards in banking/financial environments.
• Splunk certifications (Power User / Admin / Architect) preferred.
