Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior VMware System Engineer to manage, support, and optimize enterprise virtualization infrastructure for a leading financial institution.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMware technologies and proven experience handling critical infrastructure projects, performance tuning, and environment scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and optimize VMware environments to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.

• Perform routine housekeeping: VM lifecycle management, ESXi host addition/removal, patching, and version upgrades.

• Troubleshoot ESXi host and VM performance issues, resolve storage dead paths, and maintain cluster health.

• Plan and execute VM migrations across clusters during tech refresh or infrastructure upgrades.

• Maintain and update VMFS, deploy virtual machines and appliances, and scale VM resources as needed.

• Write and enhance PowerCLI scripts for automation and operational efficiency.

• Work on enterprise-grade hardware platforms such as HPE and Dell servers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security, compliance, and change management processes are followed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in VMware system administration, preferably within a financial institution.

• Proficient in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, VMFS, and PowerCLI.

• Experience with SAN, FC, and iSCSI storage protocols.

• Familiarity with VMware NSX is an advantage.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.
