Job Description

As a member of the Heinemann team, you will fundamentally negotiate all terms and conditions with the suppliers for Liquor, Tobacco and Confectionery across the Asia Pacific region. In addition to this, you will represent Heinemann in the most professional manner focusing on global alignment and external stakeholder management maintaining the on-going supplier-buyer relationship. As the Purchasing Manager, Liquor, Tobacco and Confectionery, you will


  • lead the supplier negotiation aligned to the Asia Pacific strategy, ensuring the most competitive terms and conditions are achieved.
  • lead the on-going relationship with all suppliers ensuring all Heinemann Retail and Distribution customers are being managed optimally.
  • manage the day-to-day tasks with both internal and external stakeholders with strong communication skills with internal stakeholders and global team members.
  • lead the professional expertise and strategy across all three categories when supporting new projects and tenders.
  • identify and implement current market trends with relevant assortment and brands utilizing the team for support and implementation.
  • lead, inspire and motivate team members to achieve set objectives and drive positive engagement, resulting in building team members’ capability for growth and development.

What you should bring along

  • A Degree in Business or Purchasing, with practical experience of at least seven years in a Buying role and at least three years of leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and Teams, preferably with exposure in SAP but not mandatory.
  • A strong and reliable leader with the ability to mentor Team Members and lead a capable Team adapting to business needs.
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills with the proven ability to sustain long-term relationships.
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude, complemented by the capability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with attention to detail resulting in an organised day-to-day management of the team, and external stakeholders.
